Alexandria is currently in the 8th grade at Barret Traditional Middle School located in Louisville, KY. Alexandria’s school counselor encouraged the family to contact The Shea Center following an incident last week.

Per the family and Alexandria’s report, she is the youngest of three children. Older sister’s, Abby (23yo) and Aubrey (21yo) live in Lexington and go to UK. Abby and Aubrey have a different father than Alexandria, who lives in Lexington and supports them. Alexandria lives at home with her mother Patricia (48yo) and father, Parker (50yo). Parker experienced a stroke last year and has not yet regained mobility. Parker is mostly dependent on others for daily living exercises. Since the incident, Patricia has struggled keeping up with bills as Parker was the family’s primary financial provider. Patricia is now working from home full-time in a call-center job and takes frequent breaks to care for Parker.

Within the past year, Alexandria has quit both the debate and tennis teams. Alexandria’s grades have drastically declined and has been removed from class 3 times within the past month due to anger outbursts. Alexandria is rarely hanging out with friends anymore and constantly checks on her parents throughout the day. Both Patricia and Parker advise Alexandria not to worry about either of them but she persists. Patricia reports the “constant texts” started four months ago and gradually increased to 3-5 texts per day while at school.

Patricia frantically called the school counselor last week, seeking guidance due to Alexandria leaving school and walking 35 minutes to get home. When her parents questioned why she came home, she responded stating “I was worried, you guys didn’t respond to any of my messages today. My chest started hurting, I needed to come home.”
